Hi, I’m Jay Uhdinger.
AI Pets is my passion project. It’s about stories, fun characters and worlds we can build together.
I’ve been a tech nerd all my life. That has led me to lots of projects, including VR Cover, the VR accessory brand I started in 2014. I think right now is the most exciting time ever to be into technology.
I grew up without religion. As a kid I was a bit sad when I realized magic wasn’t real. Later I read about quantum theory and got that feeling back. There’s still so much we don’t understand, and that feels like magic to me.
Now AI lets us explore and make new things. I hope AI Pets can turn some of that into good stories people really enjoy.
Stories are something we share.
The world is changing fast, but people don’t change that quickly. We still want connection, imagination and meaning. People have always told stories, and I think we’ll keep needing them, whatever happens next.
I think technology could give us more free time. I’d like AI Pets to fill some of it with fun, thoughtful things to do that don’t keep you stuck to a screen.
A place to build worlds.
AI Pets came out of my love of worldbuilding. I also have a small video project called Endgame Industries. It’s a cyberpunk world where, after years of plenty, the smartest AI gets bored of humans and leaves. People are stuck with a worse AI that an elite controls.
I want to keep telling stories from that world here, and help other people make their own. If AI takes away jobs or daily routines, building a world or telling a story with others might give people something meaningful to do.
Mostly, I hope AI Pets makes these strange times a bit more fun and a bit more human.
