Simple terms for a small companion.

You must be at least 18 to create an account and use AI Pets.

AI Pets is a beta. Features may change, pause or be removed, and the service may sometimes be slow or unavailable. Keep your own copies of anything important to you.

Keep your sign-in details and provider keys to yourself. Each account is for one person: don’t share it, and don’t sign in as someone else.

You are responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else has used it, tell us straight away at hello@aipets.com.

You keep the rights you have in the pet packs (.aipetframes files) you upload and the pet settings you create.

You give AI Pets permission to store, copy, process and display them as needed to run the service for you, for example to preview a pet or install it on your devices. Only if you choose to share a pet do you also give us permission to show it to other people, as described when you share it. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

Only upload content you have the right to use. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.

To talk to your pet, you add your own OpenRouter key. For Cartesia voices you also add a Cartesia key: Cartesia listens and speaks while OpenRouter writes the replies, so Cartesia needs an OpenRouter key too.

Your provider charges you directly under its own terms and prices. Those charges are between you and the provider. AI Pets never uses a platform key for your conversations. You can remove a key in Settings at any time.

Your pet’s replies come from AI models. They can be wrong, incomplete or unexpected, and they are not AI Pets’ views.

A pet is a companion, not a professional. Nothing it says is medical, legal, financial or other professional advice, and AI Pets is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency number.

Please don’t use AI Pets to:

• break the law or infringe other people’s rights;
• create, upload or share sexual content involving minors (we remove it and report it where the law requires);
• harass, threaten or harm anyone;
• probe, break or get around our security, access controls or safety checks, or reach other people’s accounts, pets or devices;
• reverse engineer the AI Pets service, except where the law or an open-source licence allows it;
• overload the service, get around its rate limits or use automated tools to access it at scale.

Installing firmware over USB changes your device’s software and is at your own risk. Before you install, keep a backup of your pet packs and settings, and follow the on-screen steps.

Hardware warranties come from your device’s manufacturer, not from AI Pets.

You can stop using AI Pets at any time. You can permanently erase your account and its data in Settings; download a copy there first if you want one.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we need to protect people, devices or the service, or if the beta ends. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you time to download your data.

We work hard to keep AI Pets safe and running, but during the beta we provide it as it is and as available. As far as the law allows, we do not promise that it will always work, be free of errors or suit a particular purpose.

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses or losses we could not reasonably foresee, for data you could have kept a copy of, or for charges, limits and outages at your AI providers. Where we are responsible, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid AI Pets in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or takes away your rights as a consumer.

We may update these terms as AI Pets changes. We will post the new version on this page with a new date, and when a change significantly affects you we will also tell you before it takes effect. If you don’t agree with an update, you can stop using AI Pets and erase your account.

During the private owner test, the owner testing terms also apply.
